Bases loaded no outs. Batted ball hits R1 between 1st and 2nd. Umpire calls dead ball, rules R1 out. On the play, R2 and R3 both scored. After play is over, B1 awarded 1st base and sent R2 back to 3rd base. In the end, it boiled down to R2 and R3 both advancing one base, leaving men on 1st and 3rd, with one run scoring. Batting team’s coach claims it’s a delayed dead ball, both runners should score. Fielding team’s head coach says R2 and R3 must go back to last occupied base. Umpire said R2 and R3 were both forced to the next base by B1 putting the ball in fair play.

 Should the run have counted?

No, dead ball, R1 out, Batter awarded first base and runners return unless forced which didn't happen because R1 was out.

R2 and R3 were forced until R1 was ruled out.  Once R1 is out they are no longer forced.  They get to return TOP.

Where there ruling would apply is if R2 was hit by the ball.  R1 would need to be put on second base because the batter gets first, forcing R1 to second.  R3 would still go back to third.
