I tried to find a "catch all" thread for 2025 changes, but didn't see one.

Umpire Classroom's video is up:

Nothing really earth shattering, but I did have one "tidbit takeaway" . . . Once a head coach has been restricted and ejected, restriction is no longer an option for umpires to use with the substitute coach(es).

so this means with any substitute coach/coaches you will go straight to the ejection button, or do you have to go through that hear them, acknowledge them, warn them, eject them, routine (baseballs equal to the alcoholic anonymous step program) with each remaining substitute coach/coaches individually with the 4 step program (yes i know i used the wrong words for that 4 step program but i cannot remember the exact words.

That has nothing to do with the ability/lack thereof to restrict.

Restriction is a consequence; IAWE is a process.

That it is specific to the illegal bat rule, as the penalty specifically states:

1st time - restrict head coach

2nd time - eject head coach

Additional violations - eject the designated head coach

But to your point, @dumbdumb . . . as a point of practice (not policy) in other situations . . . You do not get the "professional courtesy" extended to THE head coach (a role designated at the start of the game) if you are temporarily filling the role, particularly if you got there because he already blew that courtesy out of the water.
