3B mishandles ball then chases down the trailing runner. Prior to the tag, the leading runner crosses home plate. The batter-hitter has not yet reached first.
Does the run count?

Think of it this way - and it's a good way to explain it to anyone you know who doesn't understand this. "Force" is a status applied to the runner, not to the method in which is he put out.
