HP Umpire Edwin Moscoso ejected Brewers bench coach Pat Murphy (ball one call; QOCY) in the top of the 6th inning of the #Pirates-#Brewers game. With none out and none on, Pirates batter Jack Suwinski took a 0-1 fastball from Brewers pitcher Bryse Wilson for a called first ball. Replays indicate the pitch was located over the outer half of home plate and above the midpoint (px -0.55, pz 3.56 [sz_top 3.26 / RAD 3.38]), the call was correct.* At the time of the ejection, the Pirates were leading, 8-3. The Pirates ultimately won the contest, 8-4.

Why do MLB F2s frame like 10 year olds? I don't ask rhetorically. I genuinely want to know. Do the Yalies say it works?

Yeah, this definitely has been a problem now since just before COVID. Varsity and down, I spend a lot of time talking to catchers about framing versus jerking their pitches. Stick it! Hold it for a moment and let me see it! If you jerk it, you are selling me on a strike. I probably say this 100 times a year. I'm doing my part and I hope all of you are, too.

When I played LL in the 80's, after about 2 or 3 seasons of catching, one of my coaches talked to me about framing versus jerking pitches and I had it worked out over a couple of games and practices. I don't understand how these MLB players reach The Show and either aren't aware of this or...do they think they are fooling Pitch-Trak or what else is going on here? They clearly think it's going to get them strikes because most of them are doing it on the regular.
