Nice, thinking of going to a Cardinals game this year. Any hotel recommendations? I’m only interested in ones that are crappy, smelly, expensive, and too far away. Thanks!

We stayed at the Union Station Drury Inn … $140/night before taxes.  A bit more than I like to spend, but Drury includes a decent breakfast, “dinner,” and three (cheap) drinks with dinner.  Plus it was only about a 20 minute walk to Busch which meant no parking.  We went to Friday night’s game and Saturday’s day game, so totally worth it.

Union Station is right across the street for some other things to do, and the new soccer stadium is at the end of the block.  We wanted to go the soccer game today, but cheapest tickets were $100+.  Oof.

Must say I was heartbroken.  We were going to go to Maggie O’Brians (at the end of the block).  It used to be a nice quaint Irish pub I would go to when in St. Louis for work.  It has been “soccer gentrified” and is a sterile chain-feeling sports bar now.  Boo.
