So another video getting a lot of discussion on YT.  I've been adament this is legal and have provided rules to back up my postion.  FED rules, you are permitted to feint to 3B.  Pitcher has stepped directly towards 3B and disenged the rubber and then threw to 2B.  Is there something in the rulebook I'm missing that would make this illegal?

I wouldn't call it. You can fake to third under NFHS. Once off the rubber, he's an infielder. I've got nothing. Let's see what others think.

There's no indication in the video or its description in YouTube that this game was using FED rules. The umpires are obviously not wearing the official uniform of any state. Many summer leagues use modified OBR.

Yes, feinting to 3B is illegal in OBR and adjacent codes (I've heard not LL): OBR was revised to treat 3B just like 1B. But the 3B feint is legal in FED.

As for arguing with people on the internet:

Video creator actually said it was FED rules in the video.  And yes, arguing with people on the internet is a fail.  I'm asking for my own information.  I am pretty confident the entire sequence is legal from the camera view we are provided.  I was just looking for some confirmation from those who know more than myself.  And if I missed something, I was hoping for a little help.

Answers given are accurate…if playing true NFHS rules, this is legal and not a balk.  Most summer tourneys j work say “nfhs rules except the 3rd to 1st” (along with time limits and run rule)
