Question

Should be an easy one for you guys and I think I know the answer but want to confirm:

Bases loaded, 2 out. D3K- ball gets away. Run scores before F2 throws or tags B/R out.

Run score or not? Is throw to 1B or tag of B/R a force?

Thanks in advance.

The definition of a force in the rule book is 'in forced to advance because of the batter becoming a runner.' The batter cannot force himself so the scoring rules add an extra rule that nullifies any run when the batter-runner makes the 3rd out prior to safely reaching 1B.

Similar concept but not a force by the definition of the rules. That's where Gfoley was getting at.

Correct in the end, the run doesn't score
