No outs, R1.  Batter hits a high pop to F6 who gets nice an camped under the ball.  R1 as per usual is standing on first and BR has stopped and started to turn back about 2/3 the way up the line.  Ball hits in F6 glove and as he starts to bring his glove down promptly drops the ball, not even close to an on the transfer drop.  I immediately signal and call out "No catch", but it seems everyone and their sister (minus my partner) have all but ignored me.  F6 picks up the ball and tosses it to F1, R1 still standing on first, BR still walking back down the line towards home/his dugout and the on deck batter is starting to walk up to the box.  BR crosses back over the plate on his way to his dugout and I call him out (just a quiet raised hammer fist so as not to draw much attention). Sometimes I am still amazed at this game.

Intentionally dropped or judged to be a terrible flyball catcher?

If he intentionally dropped it, F6 would have immediately thrown the ball to F4 for the out at second.  The fact that he just threw it back to F1 indicates that he thought he caught it and then dropped it on the transfer.

I agree. Just trying to figure out what the final result was. Maybe I missed it.

BR called out before the throw to 1B so R1 no longer forced?
