This list isn't all inclusive...but there are a lot of familiar faces being ejected this weekend!  What shall we blame it on...Rat Season, Full Moon, August Heat, or tight pennant races?

Francona

Harper

Scioscia

McClendon

Gibbons

Hurdle

Votto

Maddon

Gibbons had to protect his player and being that umpires let him back on the field to calm the scuffle done they knew it as well. Why is that KC seems to be in middle of a good portion of these scuffles. The rest I attribute to the race.

I don't think the umpires "let him back on the field."  I'd being willing to bet he'll be suspended for coming back on to the field after being ejected earlier in the game.  At least that's what MLB has done in the past.

Francona-Full Moon...Needed to show his team he cares but the umpire got this one right I think.

Harper-Rat Season...ump missed the pitch but you can't get tossed there when you are a superstar.

Scioscia-August Heat...It was ball 2 for goodness sake and your pitcher missed the spot something fierce.

McClendon-Rat Season...who gets dumped over a check swing on a 1-1 count?  Would you argue and get tossed over a pitch in the 3 zone that was called a ball...Don't forget that the pitch was in the dirt?

Gibbons-Rat Season...Donaldson was brushed back because he is a good hitter and the pitch that hit Tulo just got away.

Hurdle-August Heat/Full Moon...he just had to go and its cooler in the clubhouse

Votto-August Heat/Rat Season...went down just looking to fight

Maddon-Rat Season...and he's just stupid.

Here's my take.

And Gibbons was suspended today for coming back onto the field after having been ejected earlier in the game.
