If a pitcher is injured during the inning and switches positions with F3, can the new pitcher receive unlimited warm ups or does the fact that F1 remained in the field limit him to 8 pitches?

When F1 has to stop pitching due to injury, the new F1 may have "unlimited" warm ups (within reason, and depending on conditions). Indeed, FED makes this explicit.

IIRC, taking more than 8 restricts the prior F1 from returning to the mound (in FED), and that's a consequence worth mentioning to the coach in a HS game.
