Hello everyone

I guess you could say I have moved over from the dark side as I was/am a high school baseball coach who is now an umpire. I have enjoyed the site and the information shared. I look forward to improving my skills as an umpire which should not be to hard to do since I have no skill at present besides playing and coaching the game for 45 years. I was never a coach who badgered the umpires so please be gentle in the blood letting if I ask a stupid question. I have called a couple of MS games and one each JV and Varsity, as well as numerous youth games. I feel comfortable as the PU, not saying Im any good, but I have no clue as to the footwork and positioning in the field which is what brought me to the site. I have worked with several of our better umpires and they have been great in offering advice.  We use NFHS rules. Hope yall have a great day and take it easy on the newbie. ill probably stay quite as I believe the best way to learn is to listen, but maybe occasionally I can offer something to the conversations that will allow yall the opportunity to laugh and know that coaches really are as dumb as they look.

Welcome. Don't be shy. Ask questions. Many umpires can benefit from hearing the perspective of a higher level coach. Glad to have you aboard.
