Batter swings and hits the ball with his hands.  I call a strike.  Ball is dead.  Coach leaves the dugout to arguing it's a foul ball.  I tell him no, it's not a foul ball, batter is out.  My partner corrects me that it's only strike 2.  I'm wondering why we had this conversation at all? 

 

I feel pretty stupid.  Comedy of errors.

Why couldn't I transition my rising right arm into both coming up into a safe signal when the ball got there for the pickoff but the tag didn't get down in time?

Stuff happens. I  raised my arms and called "foul" on a foul tip tonight with an R3 and one strike. :shrug:  :shakehead: No harm, as R3 wasn't coming home anyway,  but DHC says "Isn't he out? My catcher caught it." I just said "strike 2 coach", and we went on. Not my proudest moment

Last night I had The 7.07 situation. Hesitated for a second then called catchers interference on the ball that was batted foul.

Luckily the bases were loaded so the placement ended up in the correct place, but not exactly QOC..
