Why do injuries come at the worst time?

Our association has its last huge tournament this weekend (since it is a three day weekend). I get a nice haul of games. Then my left foot goes "I am going to give you a nice shot of pain every step you take." Grrrr, something always seems to go wrong when things are going great.

PRE tournament: liniment all over, sunscreen on exposed parts. Had one this weekend where most everyone had 6 games. Not recommended but that's all we had even after going to out of town guys.

I can think of a few that mainly involve large sporting events on TV. The injury has to be bad enough to stay home from work but not bad enough that the event can be enjoyed. :
