9 probably unnecessary except Williams panicked and changed pitchers in the 9th.

A number of marginal strike calls. When both teams are POed something's not quite right.

Interested to see his efficiency rating tomorrow morning on close call sports. He did seem a bit inconsistent. Then again, I don't want to think about what what my k zone might look like in the later hours of a 6+ hour game.

I looked at the BrooksBaseball plot of the game and from what I can see, he missed about 7 or 8 pitches. That seems high but it was basically 2 games worth of pitches. My question is this, for these tracking systems, do they track the ball through the zone or just where its caught? I suspect through the zone is tracked.

7-8 pitches missed in 18 innings is really damn good.  I'd bet the best of us would miss more than that in a 9 inning game if we were working with a tracking system.

From what I saw, more than anything else, he had a lot of bastard pitches.  No one wanted them.  I'd say he was back there saying, "Please God, have them throw a pitch down the middle of the plate."

Indeed. Look at the plot and look at all the pitches taken on the outside corners.. Outstanding job. Not only was it 6+ hours and 18 innings, we have all those outside corner pitches and add the fact that we're talking about a pivotal post season game where the pressure and intensity is raised well beyond that of any "normal" game.
