R2, 2outs.  BR hits the ball towards F6.  R2 is struck by the ball in front of F6 and is declared out on 7.09K  (runner struck by batted ball) for 3rd out of inning.  How is this suppose to be recorded in the scorebook?

Rule 10 in the OBR refers to these kinds of outs as "automatic outs." Rule 10.09[c](2) tells us to credit the putout to the fielder nearest the ball. In your scenario it would be scored as 6U--the shortstop unassisted. A meticulous scorekeeper might make some notation that it was an interference and make reference to the particular rule violated.

You are correct, Mr. VAUmp. Thanks for pointing that out--I neglected to give a complete answer to Mr. mbrown2097. The reasoning behind this is that it isn't the batter's fault that his batted ball happened to hit a runner so the batter should not be penalized. At the end of rule 10.05 it says that as a scorekeeper you should always give the batter the benefit of the doubt when it comes to deciding whether to credit him with a base hit.
