Neither the game announcers (Red Sox) nor the post game show could fathom this call.  You'd think they'd try to find someone on the post game show who knew the rules.

I was watching this game live while I was on the phone with a Junior umpire regarding scheduling.

 

I interrupted his sentence and started yelling "That's interference! That's interference!!" as soon as I saw it, and "Yes SIR!" when the umpire called it.

 

The Junior Umpire then said "That's interference? Why?" I didn't even know he was watching.

 

And a scheduling discussion turned into a rules discussion just like that! He said today he impressed his parents by explaining the rule to them.

The same thing happened in HIS game?  What a coincidence!
