Got to work a game where Rusty Greer was the HC today (I think he has a kid on the team). Greer played in the show for about 10 years and is still fondly remembered by Texas Rangers fans. The team was named Tide...must be a reference to his bama roots.

 

I had to explain to him about timed games and it not being a drop-dead time limit...the losing visitors get to finish the top of the inning. Though he politely accepted the explanation, I'm not sure he understood it. Dunno if it was a case of former players not undestanding the rules...or just a Alabama thing.  :wave:

Rusty Greer is from Albertville, Alabama, and played college ball at Montevallo, if I'm not mistaken. I'm pretty sure that he was unfamiliar with time limit games. They didn't use those in his last gig...it's not " a Alabama thing".
