I started officiating wrestling this year. SOmething to carry me from football to baseball/softball season.

In wrestling, if a coach questions your call (rule or judgement) and you don't change it, he gets cited for a Coach's Misconduct, which is one warning and then an ejection. The ejection also results in the loss of team points.

So let's see, OC doesn't like your call of the banger at 1B. No change, that's a warning. Next half inning IFF situation with a ball that really doesn't have the height. Coach comes out to question why no IFF. Explain why and then say OK coach that's you 2nd misconduct, you're gone.

Wouldn't that be neat?

I did the opposite last year. I was working a varsity soccer game with the home coach being a very respected ex-official. His team kept lining up short of the prescribed ten yards on free kicks. After backing them up a couple of times, I decided it was time somebody was getting a card.

I was the trail so I was a ways from the play when the shooter asked for distance. As I ran down to back them up, I asked the HC who was getting the card. He said I can't do that. I asked again who was getting the card, he answered and I awarded the card.

The look on his face was priceless. It is the same as telling a coach to pick somebody in a dugout to loose for bench jockeying.
