Congrats to Jeb Bennett

My guess is that none of you know Jeb but I thought I would give him an attaboy. I know him from games down here in Florida.

 

Jeb Bennett just finished 5 weeks of pro school...and made the first cut!

 

He comes home today and returns for another week, Feb. 17-24 and another cut will be made.  If he makes that cut...on to Rookie Ball!

 

It was intense...but as you may remember, Jeb went to MLB camp in California a few months ago...a week long camp.  Pro Umpire Supervisor, Ed Rapuano, picked Jeb to go to CA and was able to get half the scholarship and the ECUA Executive Board matched that scholarship.  Jeb did very well there...and that experience certainly gave him some 'good insight' on what to expect at the 5 week camp.

Had a friend of mine work a Varsity game last night with Jeb. He said Jeb looked like a Pro on the bases. Smooth and professional.

We can learn from every partner. Besides being a solid umpire, when you work with Jeb, you would be blind (not a first for umpires) not to recognize how much fun he has.
