+Pos Zero-g Mask

I've been asking around in the mask porn thread about a mask for both catching and umpiring and have been told I should get two masks. I've got some more questions, so I thought I'd start a new thread and let that one get back on track (I'm sorry for hijacking that one by the way.)  I had focused on All Star, but I think I'll get a silver mask to umpire, and I heard their finish fades easily. I'd like to get TW's, but I'm afraid the Honigs that comes with them already will be too heavy, so I've been thinking about getting the +pos zero-g and replacing the pads. I've heard that the silver finish comes off. Is this true? What have people's overall experiences with this mask been like? Also, how are the stock leather pads? Are they worth the extra money, or should I put the $20 toward TW's?

I used my zero gravity all year and the grey paint has not chipped or scratched.  Very durable.

I have 2 of the +pos zero G in the bright finish and they are great.....no fading or chipping.....I did equip one set with the TW padding.....

The +POS masks are nice masks.  I have one, the pads as far as I can tell identical to the ones that come on the All Star FM4000UMP.  I also have the All Star mask and rotate them.

The set of TW I have, I bought from a friend.....they went in fine, but as I posted before, they look horrible......the sewing on the lower pad looks like it was done by a Jr High Home Ec class.....its all bunched up...but that seems to be common.......if I had purchased them from TW, I would send them back....

+POS ZG with TW's is a fine combo.  That is my backup mask in silver with black pads.  Unfortunately it sits in the bag just about every game because I like my All-Star FM25ti (with tan TW's) even more.  But the +POS is a good mask, I've had no issues with visibility and the finish has held up fine on mine so far.

Great. I think I'll go with the silver zero-g and hope I get a well made pair of black TW's. I guess I'll put it at the top of my list of stiff I want and make this my next purchase once I get some game fees come spring.

The vision is about the same as in the All Star.  I have TW pads in my 4000UMP and really like it.

I've got the all-star catchers gear and I love it. @gnhbua93 - You've changed my mind again, and at $25, I don't think I'll need to think too long about that one. You don't need to purchase a soft shell.  Just purchase 2 masks and send me one of the 2 as a gratitude gesture for finding you the deal.
