  • If your pitchers hands never stop moving then YES it is a Balk.  I don't care that I already called it 2 times this inning, if he does it again I'll call it again.  (To which I did.  He finally pulled the pitcher)
  • Does EVERY Catcher have to drag his feet (an a pile of dirt with him) when he walks across the plate after I brush it off??
  • Parents, I understand that your nice seat elevated behind the backstop 150 feet away from 2B gives you a much better look at the play than I have from 5 feet away.  I'll start calling the game from next to you from now on....

It was just one of those days!  :smachhead:

The HT is supposed to keep the "official" book, but HT bookkeeper is chauffeuring another kid around town so I keep track of runs per  innings using VT's book (don't get me started about why I have to do this). After 4-1/2 innings, time expired, with the VT behind 8-7, the VT coach says, no, its 7-7, show me the HT book (he knows there isn't one). He ain't leaving until the TD rules (thanks to whoever recommended bring a cell phone to this remote field, it came in handy). After 15 minutes of this crap, HT says, lets just go with 7-7 and play the bottom half of the inning.

HT B1 walks. F1 does "the bounce" and I balk him to 2B (not a peep protest), B2 reaches 1B on U3K and R2 goes to 3B. Then F1 does the classic 3-1 fake pickoff play and game over. Wasn't THAT worth the wait, final score still 8-7.

We barely had enough daylight to finish the last game...what a guy.
