Off-topic: The anecdote about the announcer's friend who suffered that injury is pretty interesting. I've never heard of that before, but I have worried about it. When I'm outside I'll only drink something I can put a cap on top of. Especially a round of golf where you leave your drink unattended many times during the course of 3-4 hours.

It looks like it didn't go straight into to the neck, but got caught a little on the bottom edge of the mask. Clearly still painful, but maybe got "lucky" that it wasn't a few millimetres over and miss the mask completely.

Tip to rookies: always keep your protection facing the ball! Gives you the best chance of it doing the job and protecting you.

My "drink" on s golf course doesn't last long enough for that to happen
