I'll try to explain my situation with my poor English, hope you'll understand....^^

Situation: 1 out, R2 & R3. The batter hits a grounder on F5, who makes the out at 1B. During the throw to 1B, R3 tries to score, but F3 throws in time at F2. R3 tries to go back to third but realize that R2 is already on the 3rd base bag,  F5 calls the ball, touching is bag interpeling myself for an appeal while R3 scores.  :smachhead:  :smachhead:  :smachhead: :smachhead:

Whole defensive team went out of the field. I called them back explaining to the coach that no appeal avalable for me. No runner passing leading runner, no runner on same base at the same time...

So..?

I'm a little lost at the end of the play. Does F5 (you said F3) get the ball at 3B and make an "appeal"?

In any case, with a ground ball and R2 and R3 advancing just one base, there's no possibility for any kind of appeal (either retouch or missed base). If you did not have R2 passing R3, then there's no third out here.

Two runners on a base at once is not illegal nor an out, though only one of them will be protected by touching the base. In your situation, since R2 was not forced to advance, R3 remained entitled to 3B throughout the play, and if both had been tagged while touching the base, R2 would have been out.

Hope that helps. :)

Passing a runner is not an appeal play; the umpire calls the following runner out immediately if you see it.  If there were two runners on third, tagging the base would do nothing since there is no force out in this situation - the following runner would have to be tagged.  Sounds like you called the play correctly as far as I can tell.

We completely understand trying a second language, sometimes tough to get it all correct. The end result is there is nothing to call and hopefully the offense was smart enough to score R2 too.
