Alright, I'm confused - not the 1st time.

I hear all these guys talking about using WV Gold/Plat, and then I hear all these guys talking about the importance of making sure your bottom ribs stay covered. Perhaps I'm made more wonky than I thought, but anything less than a 15 incher leaves my bottom ribs exposed and I'm not much less than 6 ft.  This basically eliminates me from using a Wilson hard shell, right?

My question is, how far down does "the book" say your CP should go?  What do you use, and what's the logic behind why you use that length?

I get that MLB guys can go shorter because they hardly get hit there.  Being much lower on the food chain, I don't think I have a spot that a mediocre JV pitcher and catcher combo can't exploit.  Having a rib stick out just doesn't seem safe to me, no matter what your stance or positioning.

I prefer 15"

When I TW retro my WVG, I'm going to ask them to add an extra inch beyond what they normally add for this purpose.

I have a 13-inch douglas and like UIC, when I stand, I am very exposed, but when I am in position everything is covered very well (I am 5'10" by the way)
