Umpire Camp - Thursday and Friday

Left around 7:00am and Arrived at Tucker, Ga around 2:00pm

Our first Classroom Session Started at 4:00pm. Went over several rules as well as positioning and rotations for the 2-man mechanics.

Got to meet Charlie Reliford and Paul Nauert both big time Major League Umpires.

Go to work some plate work with Charlie. It went very well! Having such a veteran teaching you is great.

Paul has done most of the classroom work. Great teacher!

Charlie is a jokester always laughing at his own comments. Paul is more serious but still has his funny moments.

Another instructor is Trip (don't know his last name)a Minor League umpire. Also very good. We did some field work with Trip today.

Got to meet Ken Fitts on of our member on this forum. He is doing an excellent job!

Great couple of Days! Even got an MLB Shirt signed by Paul during the auction.

Will update with more later.

Saturday Sunday

More classroom work. Went to the field and Paul ran The fungo drills. Very frustration but learned a lot. Things I normally do well I was screwing up.

Sunday we worked in the cages again and also went over balks and plays at the plate.

I won a MLB shirt in the raffle, too - one of Jerry Crawford's own #3 shirts signed by him - and I love it!

I was down there in 2007 for both the Southern and International Camps (February and October). Great time...invaluable learning experience! Tony Thompson & his crew run a great camp!
