Pro Umpire School.

If any of you have thought about going, not necessarily about getting a Pro job, just about becoming a better umpire... It was awesome, I learned a bunch, meet people that will be friends for life, and where else to you get to focus on umpiring 6 days a week ( heck even on our day off we still studied) .. Harry Wendelstedt is the way to go.. The instructors were hands down the best, we had MLB guys there every day.. Heck even hitting fungo to us...LOL

I learned so much, and became a better umpire because of it. So if you even thought about it and said, ah maybe next year, just do it, you will not regret it, I promise.

Our group has a grad from an old school that no longer exists, two from Harry's and one from Jim's. It makes our yearly training very good.

Mazz you are so right... I went way back in 1982 (Kinnaman School) and my approch to everything changed for the better. The lessons we were taught by the likes of John McSherry and Joe Brinkman will live in me forever. Oh and it did help my skills on the field as well... good luck in your quest to make a go of it in pro ball / not an easy task...

Actually we have two from Jimmy's school now but he is preparing to leave for PBUC.

Pro school is for sure the way to go. The experience is something you won't find anywhere else. Whether you choose Harry's of Jim's school, you are going to get the best education. You can't go wrong.

However, I am partial to Jimmy's school for a couple of reasons, but that's irrelevant because you can't lose at pro school. Save up your pennies and go!
