R.I.P. Coach Nelson

15 years ago, coach Nelson drafted my 3 year old son to play 5-6 CP. Justin had been hitting wiffle ball pitches since he could pick up a bat, and could catch pop ups. Nelson saw his tryout and picked him. He imparted knowledge on myself and my son over the next 9 years. I learned how to coach, Justin learned proper baseball. Coach Nelson won 6 Championships in 9 years with my son on his team. He loved my son, and the feeling was mutual. 15 years later, Coach Nelson's son and Justin are once again teammates. NCAA DII.

Coach Nelson's funeral was today. Massive heart attack. He was a great Coach and his teams loved him. My son was fortunate to have been on his teams.
