OBR

After the pitch R3 gets a really big secondary lead and F2 throws down to try and pick him off. F5 comes down the line maybe 5 or 6 ft (even before the catcher has thrown the ball) F2 now throws the ball and the runner has no chance to get back to the bag as F5 is right in his way.

Since F5 is in the process of receiving the ball is it nothing or are we going to have OBS?

R3 can run through F5 to get back as he owns the basepath. If F5 Obstructs him from getting back and does not have the ball, it is OBS. I have seen this many times. Being in the process of catching ball is not a caught ball. BUT no contact has to be made for Obstruction to occur.
