Nice 4th in Detroit!

Brother in law and niece and nephew in from out of town and we went to see the Tigers Twins game yesterday! Rain delay, ...great game, 2 HRs by Miggy, ...great fireworks afterwards ...all had a blast!

Also, ..I got the birds-eye view of Doug Edding's working the dish ....and wow, is he ever quirky!! Has anyone ever seen his pre-inning plate swipe?? He wipes dirt back and forth with his feet before the plate, .....dusts the plate off, then smooths dirt behind the plate also....every time!! :D

You don't smooth the dirt in front of the plate when wipe it off? I always flatten the dirt out and make sure the front edge is covered. It keeps that short pith from doing something weird and killing the catcher and/or the PU.

Watching him on the TV, I liked his energy... After a foul ball, he was always running around the catcher, giving a strong throw to the pitcher, and then running back. It was nice to see.

Great game for you to be at as a Tigers fan too... Verlander is absolutely insane. He is crazy good.

yup, he's high energy, and heard him in the upper deck calling strikes!! Very nice!! YES....all 42k were standing for the last out!! AWESOME!

I went to Opening Day this year, and it was amazing... There wasn't much standing because it was frgid outside, but it was great. Verlander was lights out (of course), and when AJax hit that walk off the place just about exploded.
