I got my first pair of plate shoes in today (yes, I know. It's sad.). They feel a bit large though. Are plate shoes supposed to be this way in general, or is it that the shoe is really too big? This is probably a stupid question, but better to ask before messing with the cost of shipping things back and getting a new size right?

First, your feet shouldn't be sliding around in there. If you're wearing the same socks as you would during a game, they might be too big.

They should be snug, but not too tight. Leather gives a bit over time, especially in width. Synthetics won't give much.

Your feet will swell a bit during a game, so too snug is not a good idea.

They're Pentagon's. It sounds like they're too big. That's not good, considering these are a size 13, and the size 12's won't come in until January. They look more like 14's really, which shows when I put them beside my Nike tennis shoes (size 13).

Note to self: Pentagon shoes really do run a half size to full size big.
