Hello from Newport, Ky.

Hello. My name is Chase and I am a second-year umpire from northern Kentucky. I am a member of NKBUA (Northern Kentucky Baseball Umpire Association). I have played baseball most of my life and decided a couple of years ago that I missed it enough to join the ranks of the venerable umpire. So far I am enjoying it immensely. It reminds me of when I was 13 umpiring youth league. Though a lot more professional now, I haven't forgotten much. I had a good teacher in Russ Kennedy (his son Scott was a umpire for a while in MiLB).

I have currently have done all high school baseball (freshmen and JV) and hope to quickly move up to varsity and soon college. I would love to try and get into the minors and MLB, but I think at 29, I may have missed that boat. But college looks like fun enough for me.

I look forward to asking a lot of questions and getting some good (and sometimes odd) responses). Thanks.

Hey, me and my buddy will be spending the summer in Cincy working games. We are from SE ky and are both 29. Were looking for things to do after the games. Maybe we can get together and have a beer and show us where to go and where not to go in the area. (theres one gentlemens establishment we are both not allowed to enter somewhere around newport)

Scott is a big fella. It has been a LONG time since I have been around him, but he was big then and I have seen pictures lately and he still is.
