Groaning Fans

My last high school game yesterday afternoon. Home team winning by one, ..TOP of 7, 2 outs, ....2 strikes on the batter.

Pitcher (second pitcher of the day...first didn't hit his curve ball all day ...) throws a curve ball that's low and about a foot outside, but catcher is set up wide so it looks good from the stands. "Ball"

"Ooohhhhhhhhh,....looks good!!!! ohhhhhhhhhhhh "

Catcher turns to me and says ........"geeez ....those fans....wow.....who got shot over there!" :D

They think that because a pitch looks good that it should be a strike.

My first year of HS ball I was PU at a middle school game I had a pitcher throw a beautiful curve ball but it was about a foot outside. The scorekeeper was on the 3rd base side in the stands. He yells out: "Blue, Come on that was a great pitch for a 13 year old."

I turned around and told him that wasn't a good pitch for Greg Maddux, let alone your son! (the pitcher). Everyone laughed, they knew he was a hothead!
