Helmets for coaches

NCAA has implemented a helmets for base coaches rule for the upcoming year. I know Tim C. on the other boards had released the HS rules changes for 2009 which did not, much to my surprise, include base coaches wearing helmets. Do you think it is likely that NFHS will release a new rule soon stating helmets will be required for coaches this upcoming season?

I do seeing how Fed & NCAA rules tend to keep pretty close to each other overall. Just please don't give us the NCAA check swing rule in HS.

This should be the only coaches helmet necessary......and most of them have this type of transportation.

My son is now coaching D3 baseball and I asked him if they had purchased the Mandatory Coaches Helmets....

Not yet....got the impression that my email was the first he had heard of it...

Tell him to do it soon, last year coaches got back ordered in Legion. Also, many of the adult leagues are going to require it. Last year they suggested but said it would be required this year. This was NABF.

Agreed !! I sent him a text, and he said he had ordered four right after we talked...so he should be ready for spring...
