From the Windup

From the full windup the pitcher starts his motion, his pivot foot (touching the rubber) then comes off the rubber and comes back on, and then he throws to the plate, this all happens in one motion.

Has anybody seen this or at least know what I'm talking about?

Do you mean he lifts it up to pivot? So his foot is perpendicular to the rubber, then he lifts it up, turns his foot, and the foot comes down parallel to the rubber?

This is legal as long as his pivot foot is in contact with the rubber at the delivery of the pitch.

FYI - Nolan Ryans first no hitter was protested, or at least wanted to be protested, because his pivot foot would come off of the rubber, as he shifted, then come back into contact with the rubber.

No offense taken, I have always believed that this was legal. I just wanted to make sure because there was a Rat who was positive that I was wrong.

That the manager was positive you were wrong is your first clue that you right. It is always good to double check your knowledge.
