I took more shots in one game tonight then all the shots ive ever taken in my short three year career.

Hs varsity

1st inning foul ball to the shoulder, my SH*#ty CP slid over somehow and the ball hit right on the point of my shoulder. ( i cant wait for my new CP to get here monday, always trusted the softshell but I realize now why you, need pro gear).

1st inning foul ball straight back to throat.

2nd inning foul ball in the EXACT same spot on my shoulder. By this time I couldnt raise my arm to throw a ball back.

2nd inning fast ball one hopper that the catcher got lazy on right to the cup.

4th inning foul ball straight back that took my mask off.

4th inning another foul ball off the mask, not as hard but still rattled me.

5th inning passed ball to the forearm. Small frog popped up with seems imprinted.

6th inning curve ball short hops catcher. Goes over his shoulder to my chest. No pain on this one though.

I also took 2 different balls off the shins but no pain on them.

Both catchers were good catchers, and most of the shots were just weird foul balls. It got so bad players were saying sorry everytime the would foul one back at me. I could hear fans, coaches, and players talking everytime something would happen about earning my money tonight.

I only stopped the action after the throat shot and briefly after the nut shot.

But right now my shoulder is killing me and I have a double header at noon tomorrow. I just hope i dont flinch after every pitch tomorrow.

Get home thinking id get some sympathy, but no she was just bitching. Apparently she didnt like the cp, plate shoes, and poly wools I got her for mothers day. Oh well.

Similar last night...semi-pro, pitchers throwing hard. Inside passed ball, catcher elected not to try, right off my left hand which was mostly absorbed by my indicator, breaking it, although my fingers are swollen too. Two fouls balls, one to my stomach, the other a bar bender to my Wilson mask, and then another no-effort by the catcher who let a high one come through to my mask. Uncharacteristically, I told the catcher to catch the *&%$@ ball. He replied "what's the problem, you got equipment"....

Wow! As much as I despise the FYC, this catcher sure is making it hard to find close pitches.

One that might end us up with a new catcher who actually gives a crap.

Yep, EJ would be called for, but what was behind him I know was worse, so I talked to his Skip and encouraged him to encourage his catcher...

"honey, I shrunk the strike zone..."
