One of the more interesting things about the article people should take note of is when you stop you game for lightning go the the fields around you and let them know you have stopped your game and they should stop theirs as well. Their field may be facing another direction or have a higher horizon because of trees or buildings, or they might not have seen it.

It would look really bad to have 1-2 fields stopped for lightning and the others running.

This guy did the right thing by going to the other fields and getting them off the field too.

I have one of those little lightening detectors and it works very well. On overcast days, it goes in my pocket. I always try to error on the side of caution even with college kids and adults, with littler guys, be very careful.

When umpirring with guys like Bri, always hand him a nine iron to hold on the pitchers mound..when he is on the bases lol
