St. Louis fully deserves this. For the Cards to go out and sign Matt Holliday to a long-term deal and allow Albert Pujols to turn free-agent is almost beyond my comprehension. Holliday is an above-average hitter, and among the worst defensive left fielders in the game. Albert Pujols is the most prolific right-handed slugger since Jimmie Foxx! Before he is done, he will probably rate as highly as any slugger ever--including Ruth and Gehrig!

Pujols's record ten straight years of 30/100/.300 to start his career may never be approached. The streak would still be alive if he had one more RBI this year. It would also include 100 runs if he had one more run in 2007. Like first-ever three-time MVP Foxx, he has three MVPs, and if Bonds wasn't stealing them early in Albert's run, he'd have five. His career totals may wind up being something like 3200 games/2200 R/750 2B/750 HR/2200 RBI/.300 BA/.400 OBA/.600 SLG.

That man is ill.

its all about money...nothing else.,..however ...the angels probably signed a guy that is probably 34 or 35 and not 31 as pujos claims to be...the dominicans are known for falsifying birth certificates...and lets be honest he is a great player and has been for his entire career...but look at him closely...he looks closer to 40 than he does anywhere near 30...that being said ... he still has some good years left in him but know way 10 years unless he talks to bonds and gets his juice

I'm going to 'assume' you're an umpire ....so let's use the following scenario. Your local association has voted you the best umpire and have offered you and obscene amount of money to do games for them. You, 1) say no, or 2) gladly accept

The answer is 2. I love what I do, and I love my job and am satisfied, but ...if an offer came that trumped it TEN-fold .... I'd be gone too.
