Not sure which video but if you are asking about the one where the BR backs up to avoid the tag, then 3 ways:

1) Tagged by F1

2) Goes 3 feet out of his established baseline when a tag is being attempted

3) Reaches or touches HP

looked good to me. To add to Mr Umpire, there is no penalty for getting in a rundown between home and first, you could stop short of 1st backtrack 89' and until the D touches you or 1st you're not out until you reach home. 1

I don't know he actually tagged him but when he gave up and started walking away, bang him.

Once he started towards the dugout after a step or two I'm gonna hit him there, at that point he is leaving the established base path or abandoning his effort, take your pick. As others have noted, the back track towards home really means nothing until he reaches the plate or 1b is touched.
