well i had too much time on my hands so i went to the post office and weighed all my masks .i would presume that the postal electronic scales are very accurate . several mask manufacturers claim to have ultra light masks , and are always trying to shave a little more weight for the lightest on the market and bragging rights . manufactures of course dont include TG or sun visor in their weight claims

here is the weight from the PO scales of my three masks :

lightest to heaviest

diamond silver 19.90 oz.'s

all star fm2000 22.20oz.'s

pro-nine 23.20oz.'s

this is with a TG on all masks and the stock pads/harness . no modifications . as you can see only a few oz.'s separate them . why did i do this ? just to see the real weight and because it was there :question1: yes, too much time on my hands .

Remember there is no definition of "ultra" or "light" weight. It is like new and improved. Once I dumped my Wilson Dyna Light (felt like a concrete block) I am less concerned about the weight and more concerned about the view, fit and it providing durable protection. Weight is a consideration but not the most important factor. After trying most all of the mask frames out there I have settled on a frame style that suits me better than the rest. I do actullay find that I like a frame with a little bit of heft to it.

If you have way too much time, I need the back of my house painted..........just providing options before you do something really goofy. :D

Since the advent of the "light weight" masks, I've stopped caring about how much they weigh...since to me they are "light enough"......and like others above...I set my sights on how they fit and the view......

Differences between an ounce or so....pale in comparison to how they fit my melon....and how the view is from it.......( and of course how cool they look)......

You definitely have to much time on your hands.

Would have loved to seen you walk into the PO with the masks to weigh them :question1:

Is this guy having trouble picking which mask he is going to wear to rob the PO

My totally arbitrary standard for a masks with stock harness and pads (no TG) is:

One pound or less - super light weight

More than one pound to less than 1.5 pounds - light weight

More than 1.5 pounds, forgetaboutit
