Bases loaded, Cubs slugger jake fox up to bat. Fox hit a HUGE fly ball to center. Phillies Center fielder Shane victorino was back at the wall, makes the catch. But when they replayed it, I saw a fan sitting in the front row of the bleachers that threw two cups of water/beer/something on victorino. :WTF He still made the catch. The fan was (I think) escorted out by security, but... That was pretty funny. Any other fan misconduct stories??????

It was a beer.

And it's a pretty stupid thing to do.

But any Phillies fans that want to whine about this need to be reminded of the murder that took place about three weeks ago between - Phillies fans.. .over a spilled beer.

On second thought, maybe this thread should just be deleted. :(

I'm trying to figure out why this is funny to someone over 12.

Exactly.

And yet:

Yes sir ...

IT WAS A BEER

I laughed so hard when I saw this. The look on Shane Victorino's face just says it all. Hes like "WTF MAN???".

This is classic.

From: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/2009/08/13/2009-08-13_victorino.html

"It's part of the game. It's one of those things that happens and I just want to make sure that guy gets what's due," Victorino said.

"I think he needs to be held accountable. But for the most part, I just see it as the guy thought it was fun. It is what it is. It didn't cost me in any way and it didn't hurt me in any way. It's part of the ballgame," he said.

Is it me or does he contradict himself here? It's part of the of ballgame?

What if he HAD been hit with the ball, and ended up with an injury that ended his career? Is that part of the game of baseball, too? His comments make absolutely no sense, especially now that he wants to have charges filed against the moron who threw the beer. (That latter part I agree with).

Rube: Couldn't get your link to work...

Another bizarre statement from Victorino, given what happened in Philly a few weeks' ago:

"I don't think he'd be walking too far if something like that happened in the streets. It's just not something that you do. For the most part, in the big picture, this guy should be held accountable and something should be done," he said.

So in Philly, a guy spills his drink on someone in a crowded bar, and minutes later, a 3-on-1 fight and guy is beaten to death.
