new pants?!

getting my 2nd pair of pants...like an idiot i took the first pair to the tailor with the pants marked where i thought they should be hemmed. (did i spell hemmed right)? I think the first pair are to short. any advice will be a great help. combo different than plate/base..etc. Thanks, the guy currently umping in capri pants!!

Yeah. Let the tailor do the measuring next time.

Most will tell you to have them measured and pinned by the one doing the hemming while you're geared up (wearing shins/plate shoes) for your plate pants, then in your base shoes for base pants.

First, when you get them hemmed, be sure there's lots of fabric turned up. That way you can make adjustments (different plate shoes) and make them easier to sell on eBay in a few years.

You need to wear your plate shoes to the tailor, and get in your stance. Then mark your pants. Nobody wants to see your McDavid's tights when you drop in.

Plate pants, trust me. I've sold, or given away all my combos. Some look okay, but most don't. I've got a pair that actually look great as base pants.

Mike, Finally got the new pants.....Are you sure the wife won't mind? I have to do the sewing around here......like using a boulder for a needle!

Shouldn't be a problem. Call me tomrrow and I'll set it up. She will want you to try them on with shin guards and plate shoes to get the correct length.
