need help with line up cards

The reason i do not like the score keeper keeping the only line up card is because even though they are usually honest and trustworthy parents, you never know if they hold a grudge against the other team and will try to cheat in some way. I always keep a line up card. It is mandatory in our district for managers to give the umpires line up cards at the beginning of each game.

That's what I don't understand about the Regionals and WS games, it seems the umpire is completely out of the loop on subs. I don't like it and it slows the game down bigtime.

I was doing a sectional game up in Anaheim and the TD kept the line up card. The home plate umpire did not even get a copy of the line up card. Also, the coaches had to submit their changes by writing the change on a 3 by 5 form and giving it to the umpire.

Basically (i have done the same sectional-CA District 46-Little League 12 year olds) the UIC was just running the 3 X 5 card from one dugout, stopping at the scorekeeper & TD to report it to them, then running over to the other dugout and giving them the 3 X 5 card. This was the craziest thing i've ever seen in regards to lineups.

The only Little League (12 year olds) regional that does have the umpires hold on to the lineups is Western Region. Bill Carter makes sure of that....

I was wondering why when watching games, some umpires had cards and ithers didn't. Now I know. I don't see why the umpire didn't have a lineup card too. It only makes sense.

Different places do different things. As far as cheating...that's a little bit of a stretch to think a parent is going to change the scorebook and lineup card(s) (would need to change the copy the other team received as well) just to coordinate with the mgr of the team to get a BOO out? I should add that all of the national play games that I have done use a official that's not connected to either team for the official book/lineup card. Maybe it's different with LL or younger kids as I don't do LL, or any leagues younger than 13 y/o. Our association does have several LL leagues and as far as I know (I'm responsible for writing all of the contracts with the leagues for our association) the umpire doesn't keep the cards for any of them (these are all paid umpires).

my favorite is when they say to you through the fence "blue thats the wrong batter" and I reply "so?". Then tell them I cant do anything about it and have their manager bring the complaint to me.
