Any one know what this is?

I came across this picture of Mark Wegner's chest protector. The plates are from a Wilson gold. I wanted to see if anyone knew what the padding was? It looks like it is really thin, I noticed a couple weeks ago that he wore a Thermabase jacket behind the plate.

Looks like he grafted Gold plates on an All Star catchers c/p. Novel idea.

I posted the same thing before somewhere around. I'm also curious. It looks as if he modified a catchers cp and put plates on it. Doesn't look very protective to say the least.

Protection would depend on what he is using it for?

I agree. Doesn't seem it would be the best protection for major league baseball.

This must meet his needs. I always thought that the Douglas (and now the new All Star) were the perfect combination of low profile and providing max protection. I have often toyed with the idea of installing carbon fiber plates on my Douglas just for the cool factor.
