All Star MVP Mask

Hey everyone another question.. honigs offers two different all star masks.. I wondering what you guys think of them? Is the "Super-light" model really that much of a difference?

I notice a lot of minor league guys wear these now, I used the Diamond edge mask but I really didn't like it that much..

The MVP2000SP is just "tad" heavier than the MVP2000SL that I currently use.

The weight difference is pretty much....well...not very much at all!

I had the SP for 3 seasons, got a super deal on the SL....into the 3rd season with that one!

I had the 2200SL (lightweight one) until I sold it on here this spring after only wearing it about three times. It was really light, but I just didn't like the feeling of it enclosing my head, I didn't like taking it off, and I couldn't stand not wearing a hat on the baseball field. Plus, I was a catcher and I always wore a traditional mask (The HSMs came out right when I was done with high school). I have a Wilson Titanium and Wilson WV/Dyna-Lite as my backup now.

There are some fields here that use an overhang back stop to lessen the amount of balls being lost in the woods and there's been some very close foul balls that have almost hit my head coming down..

I'm the guy that bought Zach's 2200SL at the beginning of this year. I've used it almost exclusively since then. Previously I had the $69 (model number escapes me at the moment). I cannot say I noticed any difference in the weight. Both have taken some extreme hits with no after effects.

The padding is replacable on the 2200SL, which I see can be a good thing if you wear it a lot in hot weather.

I started wearing the HSM last year for the same reason...a lot of close in backstops and nets and have taken at least 1 hit right on top. Good idea!
