Dont complain about an 8 hour drive if they move it to Pittsburgh, Ive been driving 7 1/2 hours since they moved it to Philly. Pitt will only be 3 1/2 hours for me. I pray they move it. Time for me not to have to drive so far.
I wear whatever color i am wearing on the outside. IF i am wearing navy, i have a navy shirt on underneath. IF i am wearing the pro powder blue, then i wear powder underneath. If i am wearing black, then its a black undershirt.
I always cut off the metatarsal plate off the shin guards. Thats what you have plate shoes for. I think it looks very bad to have gear coming out of your pants like that. You see no major league guys with the metarsal plates on the shinguards. Remove it.
The whole intent of this rule is the following.
Pitchers straddling the rubber and taking signs as if to appear like they are on the rubber. Ths is a balk. If a pitcher is straddling the rubber and taking his signs from the catcher as to appear as if he is on the rubber, this is a balk. NO warning. Just call the balk. If a pitcher is standing behind the rubber or on the grass and goes ahead a takes a sign from the catcher, whats the harm in that?
I dont care if there is a scoreboard or not. When i am working the plate, my base umpire will not have an indicator in hand. And i as the base umpire, will not have an indicator in my hand either.
This is one of the things i hate the most. When i work a college or a high school game and a kid calls me blue. I correct them and tell them to call me sir or Mr.Umpire. How would the players like it if we called them rats. LOL. As far as coaches, i hate for a cocah to call me blue as well. I try not to call a coach, coach. I write down his first name on the lineup card and try to call him by that name. I dont like to be referred to as a crayon.
I have been putting my hand on the catchers back for a few years now. After working pro ball, i found this to actually be helpful as to when a catcher sets up late i can move along with him. I personally dont see a problem with it as long as you are not pushing the catcher forward.
