    A jump turn is a move from the rubber, so it's a 1 base award.

    If the batter is still in the box, like in you second situation where the ball kicks straight back up, it's a foul ball. For your original situation, if the batter is out of the box, he would be out for interference.

    It doesn't matter that he's on the plate, if that's what you're looking for. If the umpire felt he tried to avoid the ball and it wasn't on the strike zone, HBP. If he intentionally moved into it and it wasn't in the strike zone, ball. If it was in the strike zone, strike. Dead ball in all 3 situations.

    First of all, I would never say "dead ball" as an umpire. But I choose D.

    Stepping on 3rd base to retire R2 constitues a play. Therefore all runners will be awarded 2 bases from the last base legally acquired at the time of the throw. Most likely R3 scores, R1 to 3rd and BR to 2nd.
