    I figured I would give everyone on here a chance to check our some trashy mask porn...lol I am planning to upgrade ASAP.

    I think that is a solid idea. The LL umpire is usually one of the guys that is trying to either get some experience or just trying to help out. Either way these guys and gals need to have something they can be proud of to wear. I know in our area we wear the navy polo style shirts with the red and white trim. They are ok but on those hot summer days it would be nice to have a lighter color and the problem is that the blues never look the same on the base and plate umps. If the LL organization came out with a sponsor supplier I believe the umps would support them.

    Well I would be one of the people that would be checking out equipment and would probably drop a few bucks to get new gear after being able to check it out inperson.

    I got a pair of the New Balance plate shoes the end of last season but have not used them much yet so I hope this is not a constant problem. Up to this point I never really wore plate shoes anyway but since i am moving up in ages and amount of games i wanted to get a little more protection.

    that is the stuff I am looking for...now I know the pads are the key. What about a harness? I have been using stock harnesses but thinking of upgrading it.

    That is the plan...I just got back into the umpiring game about 6 months ago...so looking for time and to save some $ up to go to a camp or clinic this summer

    Maybe this is just a crazy idea but I would think that an umpiring equipment expo that was done regionally in several areas by all the big dealers in equipment would be a great idea. Then we could touch and try on the equipment to make an informed decision. Is this done anywhere? If so any success?

    I personally am going to try the Wilson i just picked up first for a few weeks of fall ball and then decide if I need to get anything else. I have another mask it is a Champion Ultra-Lite Umpire Mask I got with the Champion Umpire Equipment Starter Package. I just am not too sure I trust the mask as an every gamer.

    Yes...I am trying to do some research and get set up...just so much to go through it can be hard. We don't have a good local sports shop here so the majority of my stuff has to be bought online.

    Ok...so what questions can and can not be asked on here? I post asking about masks in general and that does not seem to be cool then I ask about a specific brand and again it seems like that isn't alright either. I am just trying to stay safe and make a good decision. Thanks to everyone for the input and have a good day.

    Ok...so I picked up a Wilson WTA 3017 last night on ebay and am going to see how i like that for a game or two and then maybe get a couple more masks to figure out a regular setup that will work for me. I am considering a Diamond Mask right now. Any thoughts?

    To be honest about it I think it looks more professional to have a hat on when you take your mask off and i have found it almost impossible to keep a hat on under a hockey style helmet. I am going to probably just try out a few setups and see how they go this fall.

    i looked through teh Mask Porn thread and had so many different things going on that i have no clue. I did go ahead and get one mask off ebay last night a Wilson WTA 3017. Will give it a shot and move from there.

    I am sorry if I came across as being upset or anything I am just overwhelmed with different pads, frames, and combinations. I was hoping to get opinions from guys (and gals) that are currently using different combinations and have looked through the different threads already looking for ideas. Just so many. i have no clue what I need or what is going to work for me. I may just have to get several and test them myself.

    I am sorry if my question is not appropriate for this group. I am just trying to get opinions and suggestions on masks...didn't want to just look at a bunch of different mask setups and then not know if the setup works well or just show. I appreciate the help Platejob29.
