Did I say just B1G teams? How about any teams? Simple fact is the good SEC teams are more than willing to play big time games at "neutral" sites in their conference's footprint where the fan split is 75+% in their favor, but they rarely leave their comfort zone. I wonder why that is?

Let me know when the big time SEC programs regularly start making trips to the North to play football games.

OSU would be favored by a FG over Auburn, so I don't exactly know how FSU vs. OSU would be a bad championship game, but somehow FSU vs. Auburn will be a good football game. We are talking about a team equipped with a large majority of players that played on a team that went winless in the SEC last year. Auburn will get smoked.

There's no way they could have kept up with FSU. Big 10 football in general is just too slow to keep up with a team as quick as FSU. I highly doubt that OSU could beat most of the teams in the top 10 maybe even top 15. Vegas disagrees with you...by a large margin. Let me emphasize, by a large margin!

Dude... Did you see our secondary all year? The LBs and S play is embarrassing. There are high school teams that could beat our safeties. It would have been...ugly. I think a month off would've done wonders. Wisconsin?

You guys need to understand the context. I still believe had OSU not laid an egg in the B1G championship that they would've beaten FSU. Urban Meyer game planning for a month wouldn't have been fair. Unfortunately, we'll never know what would've happened. But I can assure you that OSU would've won.

If you give up 40+ to Michigan I think FSU will at least match that. And that's being kind =) All bets are off during rivalry games. Especially when the home team has no pressure at all and can pull out all the stops versus a (let's just call a spade a spade) a tentative team riding an incredibly long winning streak. Most important, as he's shown in the past, giving Urban Meyer a month to prepare for a game is hazardous to the other team's health. All that being said, it'll be a 49-42ish type of affair. I have my doubts that O$U can beat Meatchicken State. If OSU loses, and Mizzouri beats Auburn, Urban Meyer will likely have another "health issue" when Alabama goes to the BCSCG, lol.... You guys just worry about keeping Saban and how many players you are going to cut, errr....place on medical hardship before next season.

Just root for the B1G then. Ohio State winning brings more money into the conference because of the title game appearance. MSU would likely be in the Rose Bowl regardless of the result. That being said, if I was in your situation I would hope OSU would be demolished. Hell, I wish TTUN would go 0-12 each year. Lol that's just it! I couldn't stand it if Ohio State won the NC game. They're a bunch of liars and dirty cheats (no offense to you personally)... At the same time, I couldn't stand it if MSU made the Rose Bowl because I'd never hear the end of it... I'm going to let what happens happen and hope both of you get crushed 60-0 in your respective bowls. OSU will win the title. That's a given. MSU will win the Rose Bowl. And most important, Hoke will be good enough to stay at TTUN but bad enough to never beat OSU. I don't think it's a given, but I do think you have a fighting shot against anyone not in the SEC... An MSU-Stanford game would be a good one, not sure who'd win. You do know you were 15.5 point favorites in this game that you won by three yards right? I am glad that the rivalry is back though. I think that's crazy because giving Urban Meyer one month to prepare is hazardous to his opponent's health. I saw a +9.5 spread if FSU and OSU play each other. That is easy money right there. Taking a mortgage out on the house to place a bet easy. As far as Saturday's game is concerned, I don't think it was a big surprise that it was so close. OSU hasn't beaten TTUN by double digits in AA since the 1960s. They had absolutely nothing to play for besides ruining their rivals season and they pulled out all the stops. I placed a small wager online for UM +16. I figured if OSU was going to lose or make me sweat it out I could at least win some money as a consolation. I though when Braxton scored the tying TD before halftime that UM was going to come out flat and it turned out they did, but then Carlos fumbled and all of a sudden I began getting worried. I was convinced they were going to get that two-point conversion. Figured Funchess would be wide open somewhere in the endzone of Gardner would rush in after a missed tackle. Thank goodness Powell picked it off. After seeing Auburn propel OSU into the title game (pending a tough B1G championship)by beating Bama, I thought back to the ending of The Game and how UM almost ruined the chance for a title game berth. Not a big drinker, but I would have hit the bottle that night.

Wanted to go and try to make a career out of it. Unfortunately, back issues at the "old" age of 24 have led me to realize that this just isn't something that was meant to be. Good Luck to all of you who may be going down there to attempt to live your dream.

My partner always points to the right on a called strike. When he hears the "gotta call 'em both ways" after a strike he says, "Okay" and does the same thing to his left. First time I saw him do that I was in tears. Also, I know one guy who carries a pacifier in his ball bag to each game. You can probably imagine what he uses it for. I'm 5'10"/180...these guys are both north of 6'5"/250, so they can get away with that stuff I suppose. Haha.

I can't believe this thread has lasted this long. When I started this I was a 15-year old kid whose mom drove me to the games I was scheduled to umpire. I showed up with shorts, tennis shoes, a mask and a ballon chest protector (and underwear, for all you smart asses ). After the first game I was given some tough love about appearance and equipment and from that day on I never looked back. Dress the way everyone else does or don't show up. You're already behind the eight ball because you're a woman. Why you (or any other person) would want to draw additional attention to yourself is a mystery to me. I've seen people, who have MUCH more patience than I, give you FANTASTIC advice. Take it or leave it. Stop making excuses.

That's an ejection for me at any level. That kind of garbage is a big reason why I will NEVER work a "little kid" game again. That behavior is just so rampant until you get to high school aged (school and summer) baseball. Of course, that is my experience. Next year I'll be lucky if I can do a couple games a week. Certainly not going to spend my precious amount of umpiring time working bad baseball with some a-hole dad coaching.

As far as the OP is concerned, I think you should probably do something else (babysitting, cooking, some sort of cleaning, etc.) You're stealing games from males.
