Pregame conference question where the coach didn’t list subs?

how did I miss the question ?

a) start the game and tell the coach he may add substitutes as he gets time during the game

(seems correct but was wrong)

b) inform the coach there will be no substitutions allowed for his team in the game

c) not accept the line up card  the game cannot begin until the umpire has received lineup cards from both teams

d) inform the head coach that as a penalty for not having his lineup card correct, he may not occupy a coaching box for the balance of the game

As much as I would like for it to be B or D . . . real penalties will nip this! . . .

It would be C.  Which is kind of nonsensical considering they can add subs to the list at any point in the game (totally leading to a more sensible, but wrong, answer of A).

The problem with answer one is he's keeping the lineup card in the dugout and you don't have it to start the game. You need it to start the game,

The "reality" answer is you accept the lineup card and when he subs people in you just write them into the lineup. If there's only 2 or 3, by all means, write them down and start the game. If he's got 10, just take the lineup with the starters, tell him he really should write the subs on the card next time, and start the game.
