I just got my Force3 shin guards (BTW, Ump-attire has them for $99 until Sunday).  What can be done about the ankle flaps such that they don't dig into the side material on the shoes?  Without cutting them off, is there anything that can permanently widen them where they won't rub?

Currently, my All-Stars rubbed into the shoe's ankle fabric and wore a hole into all sides.  I have black duck tape on the shoes to protect them and I cut off the ankle pieces to minimize the rubbing.  Is there anything else that can be done?  NB mids are my plate shoes.

I have not had any issues at all with the ankle flaps on any of my plate shoes, but I would guess it depends upon how the LGs are put on.

I'll lift up the tongue of my plate shoes and stuff the bottom of the LGs down as far as I can. Maybe that forces (pun kinda not intended) the ankle flaps out a bit more?

I actually tried them on last night and my concern is very minimal.  The ankle pieces slightly rub the rear outside peak on the shoe and not anywhere near where my All-stars rubbed.  I think it has to do with the amount of material below the lower hard plastic bottom.  The All-Stars have three or four inches of material?  The F3 have a inch, maybe? So the All-Stars ride lower on the leg due to it being more flexible and form to upper foot/ankle.
